Roof Top Units, Scroll Compressors

Air handlers are devices used as part of HVAC systems to regulate and circulate air. Those air handlers designed for outdoors use, mainly on top of roofs, are called Roof Top Units or packaged units. Roof Top Units (packaged units) and most walk-in coolers and freezers will have a reciprocating or scroll compressor. It is critical to obtain equipment specifications from the compressor label and not the packaged unit manufactures label. Some packaged units will have multiple compressors with multiple sizes. Typically the original oil charge will be stamped on the compressor label. EcoCOOL^® is completely compatible with packaged units using scroll compressors.

To find out if yours can benefit from the addition of our catalyst, it is critical to obtain more detailed equipment specifications from the compressor label than that provided by the packaged unit manufacturer’s label.
